Background

Club Vita is the leading longevity data analytics company servicing the UK, US and Canadian life insurance and pension risk transfer markets. Established in 2008 we have led the market in collecting and analysing detailed data on pension recipients – initially in the UK before expanding to Canada in 2015 and the US in 2019.

We are recognised thought leaders in longevity and have developed market leading analytics products including multivariate models of mortality/longevity and depersonalised data solutions based on data covering over 20m pension records.

We continue to experience 20%+ year on year revenue growth through an expanding international client-base and suite of data analytics products.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of recognised experts in longevity. The successful candidate with show strong technical acumen, the ability to work collaboratively within a team and be confident in pro-actively seeking support from experienced colleagues.

Role Description

The role will be focused on delivering high quality longevity research, thought leadership and new analytics for use by our pension plan and life insurer clients. The primary focus will be on exploring new ideas and insights, with these ultimately forming the foundations of new products / extensions of existing products into new markets. Throughout your work the application of statistical knowledge to create commercially focussed insights will be key.

You will be expected to be comfortable working with R and a willingness to use an extensive pre-built code base to ensure efficient and timely production of analysis.

The role will involve working with internal stakeholders across a range of statistical, actuarial and business development roles. You will be expected to be comfortable presenting your work internally and to external clients / stakeholders and as the role grows you are likely to participate widely in industry forums.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • To support the application and development of longevity analytics for new markets (including new countries)
  • Scoping and delivery of market leading longevity research and analytics under the guidance of experienced industry experts
  • Documenting the findings of the research for internal use (new products) and/or provision to our clients in a series of workshops
  • Generation of thought leadership publications
Skills and Qualifications Required

Skills - critical:

  • Able to take initiative on projects and proactively seek guidance from more experienced colleagues
  • Collaborative team worker who is confident in mentoring less experienced members of the team
  • Extensive experience in data/analytical programming in R
  • Extensive experience in problem solving within the data and analytical space
  • Experience of working on complex projects to a strict deadline within a commercial environment
  • Prior experience of longevity or demography

  • Excellent communicator, both to specialist and non-specialist stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
  • Ability to be pragmatic where required
