Background

Club Vita is the leading longevity data analytics company servicing the UK, US and Canadian life insurance and pension risk transfer markets. Established in 2008 we have led the market in collecting and analysing detailed data on pension recipients – initially in the UK before expanding to Canada in 2015 and the US in 2019.

We are recognised thought leaders in longevity and have developed market leading analytics products including multivariate models of mortality/longevity and depersonalised data solutions based on data covering over 20m pension records.

We continue to experience 20%+ year on year revenue growth through an expanding international client-base and suite of data analytics products.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of recognised experts in longevity. The successful candidate with show strong technical acumen, the ability to work collaboratively within a team and be confident in pro-actively seeking support from experienced colleagues.

Role Description

The role will initially be focussed on providing high quality analytics and support in the production of mortality / longevity experience studies to aid clients in the effect use of both our mortality profiling and experience analysis tools for their back books of data / larger transactions. The role sits within our thought leadership and client services team and there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to grow to take on additional roles and responsibilities in performing high quality research and analytics to further the market’s understanding of longevity patterns.

You will be expected to be comfortable working with R and a willingness to use an extensive pre-built code base to ensure efficient and timely production of analysis.

The role will involve working with internal stakeholders across a range of statistical, actuarial and business development roles. You will be expected to be comfortable presenting your work internally and there will be opportunities to interact with clients.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Production of longevity experience analyses for insurers and pension plans
  • Identifications of limitations of the experience analysis data
  • Support clients in understanding how to appropriately use our mortality profiling analytics and experience analysis tools
Skills and Qualifications Required

Skills:

  • Experience in data/analytical programming such as R
  • Experience of working on complex projects to a strict deadline within a commercial environment
  • Prior experience of longevity or mortality experience analytics in an insurance or pensions context is highly desirable

Qualifications:

  • This role will suit someone with qualifications in data science / actuarial sciences or prior experience in working with mortality/longevity experience data in a commercial environment
  • Qualifications can be degree (or equivalent) or certified on the job training
  • Where a candidate is in possession these skills but does not have existing qualifications we will consider applications but reserve the right to conduct a skills-based exercise as part of recruitment.
